The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi has congratulated the newly appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, CON, on his announcement by the Federal Government of Nigeria, describing the appointment as well-deserved.
 
Professor Akinwumi gave the remarks during a meeting held with the Chairman shortly after the Federal Government announced the list of the reconstituted Governing Councils and Boards of Federal Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education approved by His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
 
The meeting which took place at the residence of the new Council Chairman centered on charting a way forward for the thirteen-year-old citadel of learning. More importantly, it marked a new chapter in the history of Federal University Lokoja, as one of the fastest growing Universities in Nigeria is set to usher in the 4th Governing Council replete with eminent Nigerians with proven track records of outstanding service to the nation who would take the Institution to a greater height.
 
Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba is the erstwhile Majority Leader of the Senate and ex-Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Other distinguished external members of the new Governing Council include Hon. Adegboyega Basheer, Hon. Abubakar Abbas Dogara Wamba, Agboola Mojeed Olayiwola, and Ibrahim Haruna Gaidam.
