FUL Makes Elite List of Top African Varsities' Ranking, VC Announces Commencement of Engineering & Nursing Programmes
The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has made the elite list of top African Universities’ Ranking in the maiden Times Higher Education (THE) 2023 Sub-Saharan African Rankings report released recently. FUL’s emergence was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital while presiding over the 77th meeting of the University’s Senate on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. FUL fulfills her vision, emerges best out of the newly established Federal Universities in Nigeria - NUC Ranking
The National Universities Commission (NUC) on 13th December, 2021 launched the 2021 edition of the Nigerian University Systems (NUS) Ranking. The event was held at the NAF Conference Centre, Kado, Abuja as part of the Capacity Building Workshop for Public Universities sponsored by TETFund and organized for Vice-Chancellors, Directors of Academic Planning, Directors of Research, Directors of ICT, Librarians, and other stakeholders from public universities in Nigeria. The theme of the event is “Requirements for Strengthening Nigerian Universities for Higher Global Ranking and Knowledge Economy.”
In the newly published NUS ranking, Federal University Lokoja ranked the best out of all the counterpart Federal Universities established in 2011 by the then President Goodluck Jonathan. Additionally, FUL ranked the second-best Federal University in the North-Central geo-political zone and 16th out of the total 113 universities ranked in this edition. Read the full report here

Webometrics Ranking: FUL Ranks 35th in Nigeria, 3rd Among 12 New Federal Universities established in 2011
The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has been ranked 35th in Nigeria and 3rd among the 12 New Federal Universities established in 2011, according to a recent report by Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
"Webometrics Ranking of World Universities" is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.
According to its July, 2021 report, Federal University Lokoja (in less than 5 months) has moved from the previous 7th position amongst its peers established the same year to 3rd position, and moved from 78th position to 35th in Nigeria. In Sub-Sahara Africa, FUL moved from 255th to 122nd, in Africa, from 396th to 221st, while in the world, from 10604th to 5024th. Read the full report here
