The Global Institute for Infectious Disease Control (GIIDC)
In numerous regions worldwide, efforts to curb the transmission of infectious diseases have shown promise, yet complete eradication remains elusive. On the contrary, microbes are increasingly resistant to medical interventions, exacerbated by the swift exchange of pathogens through global trade and travel. Diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, hepatitis, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and malaria continue to jeopardize the well-being of millions. The Global Institute for Infectious Disease Control (GIIDC) aims to spearhead multidisciplinary research, transcending traditional boundaries, to confront the most pressing global health crises of our time.
Federal University Lokoja holds a pivotal position in shaping and implementing strategies for a healthier future for everyone. Through the (GIIDC), we leverage the collective knowledge and resources of Federal University Lokoja postgraduate schools, hospitals, and global partners.
